My boys are still loving Shark Week and that means they have been burning through all the Shark-themed kids’ activities I can find. Luckily, this Shark Scissor Skills Practice Worksheet is one of their favorites.
If you are looking for a fun shark worksheet for your classroom or home, this one is perfect for improving those fine motor skills.
Of course, it is also super fun which makes working on those skills a fun learning experience too.

Shark Scissor Skills Practice Worksheet – Age Range
This worksheet works best for preschool through elementary-age kids. Of course, that does not mean it won’t be fun for younger kids too. It might just take some patience and adaptation.
For example, a third grader should be able to do the worksheet with a little concentration, but not a lot of difficulty.
A kindergartner will take a little more time to complete the worksheet. My middle guy is six and the worksheet was challenging enough to make him work towards the goal, but not too difficult that he gave up.
Then of course there is my crazy, last child, the preschool tornado. He was all about cutting the sharks! While his technique of staying on the lines was lacking (wink) he did cut through every shark on the paper at least once!
So as far as cutting practice goes, there is a wide range of ages that this Shark Scissor Skills Practice Worksheet can cover. As long as they are cutting, they are working their small hand muscles and increasing their fine motor skills.
Ideas for using your Shark Cutting Practice Worksheet
First, this worksheet would be perfect for an Ocean Theme Unit for School. It’s a colorful printable, but it can be printed in black and white by adjusting your printer settings.
Next, it’s also fun to celebrate Shark Week at Home. Set it out while you are making supper, watching a shark show on TV, or during your school work time.
Also, it would be fun to set out at a Shark Birthday Party. Just make sure you have enough scissors so several kids can cut at the same time.
I never used to plan calmer activities like this for birthday parties, but I’ve realized some kids love doing “table work”. If the kids end up not doing the worksheet, drop it in their goody bag and send it home.
The worksheet is also fun to use for Road Trips to the Beach or on long vacation drives. Simply print it out and place it in your child’s Travel Binder with a pair of scissors.
Or maybe your child is simply infatuated with sharks. There doesn’t need to be a special occasion or party to have fun with sharks.
Here’s your free printable Shark Worksheet & a few other suggestions too!

Patriotic Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Sugar Crisps
It’s really hard to pinpoint how to categorize this Patriotic Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Sugar Crisps recipe.
It makes a great holiday snack for BBQs or days at the lake.
As for a dessert, it works well served in small bowls, with crunchy crisps on the side.
However, you choose to serve it, your family and friends will love it!
The combination of the sweet fruit salsa with the crunchy cinnamon crisps is a perfect, light summer treat.
How to make the Patriotic Fruit Salsa
Did I mention that it isn’t that difficult to make? The fruit salsa has 4 ingredients – strawberries, blueberries, strawberry preserves, and a few marshmallows to sprinkle on top. That’s it!
Cut up the strawberries
Add blueberries
Add a tablespoon of strawberry preserves
Stir and sprinkle marshmallows on top
That’s it! The Cinnamon Sugar Crisps are fairly easy to make as well.
How to make Cinnamon Sugar Crisps
I’ve been making this recipe for years, and the highlight of it is the crisps. I make these for my boys as snacks, without fruit salsa to dip.
Again, you will only need 4 ingredients – tortilla shells, cinnamon, sugar, and nonstick spray!
Spray the tortillas on both sides with a nonstick spray
Cut the tortillas into strips
Coat in the cinnamon & sugar mixture
Bake @ 350 degrees for 10-14 minutes
Make sure you check out the more detailed recipe below, but this quick run-through shows you just how easy it is to make this delicious patriotic recipe.
Add strawberry preserves to dice strawberries and mix well
Add cleaned blueberries to strawberry mixture. Mix well
Right before serving, garnish the Patriotic Fruit Salsa with tiny marshmallows
Cinnamon Sugar Crisps
Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
Mix the cinnamon and sugar mixture in a flat bowl or pan.
Spray both sides of the flour tortilla with non stick spray
Cut the sprayed tortilla in half (a cookie cutter works well). Then cut the halved tortilla into chip sized pieces.
Dip the sprayed tortilla into the cinnamon and sugar mixture, making sure to coat both sides.
Place the coated tortillas onto a baking sheet and into the preheated oven. Bake for 10 to 14 minutes until the tortillas shells are slightly firm. They will become even crispier as they cool off.

This teacher appreciation printable is the perfect way to thank a teacher for going above and beyond for your child.
Or, sometimes receiving a thank you on a random Monday can perk up a teacher’s week!

Teacher Appreciation Gift Card Printable Poem
This printable has a simple poem along with room at the bottom for an Amazon Gift card.
What I love about the poem is that it lets the teacher know that you are okay with them using it however they want.
I always felt a little guilty as a teacher if I didn’t spend all of the gift cards on classroom necessities.
Even if the parent had told me to spend it on myself!
The fact of the matter is that teachers spend a lot of their own money on supplies.
This poem simply expresses that your wish is for them to spend their gift however they would like!
The 5-Minute Teacher Gift Idea
If you are truly running behind, there are text and email options forAmazon Gift Cards.
You can text or email the code to yourself, and then write the code in the bottom space of the printable. This is the route I take if I haven’t had time to purchase a physical gift card.
To begin, first, print out the free teacher appreciation printable. Then cut and trim it up as needed.

Are you ready for another great STEM toothpick challenge that is sure to entertain your little builder? This Jelly Bean Toothpick Building Activity is going to become one that you keep around as the perfect boredom buster!
My favorite type of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities are hands-on challenges. Most kids enjoy seeing the process and changes as they manipulate, build, or experiment.
This activity is both a hands-on learning experience and a lesson in engineering. Their creations develop right before their eyes, all while using their cognitive skills to make them structurally sound.

Supplies for Jelly Bean Toothpick Building Activity
Want to know what I love more than a great STEM Activity? It’s a frugal STEM activity that doesn’t involve multiple supplies! For this one, you will only need:
It also doesn’t hurt to provide the children with a paper plate or bowl to contain their jelly beans and toothpicks.
Building with Jelly Beans and Toothpicks
There are lots of ways kids can build with jelly beans & toothpicks. I find that mixing a little bit of a structure competition with creative building time works well.
For example, you could have kids do a challenge and then allow for extra time for creative building.
CREATIVE BUILDING PROJECTS
One way to do the Jelly Bean Toothpick Building Activity is to have your child work independently on creating anything they can imagine.
There are no rules or set guidelines for the kids to follow in this situation. They simply have time to explore the materials and be creative.
Do you have a kid who loves STEM projects? Then check out our list of favorite Educational & Fun STEM Sets & Toys. Perfect for using in an Easter Basket or while you are trying to keep your kids busy at home.
PROJECT-BASED BUILDING
Beyond creative building, there are lots of challenges that are project-based for the kids to enjoy building with jelly beans.
This means providing the kids with a set challenge or project and letting them work alone or as a team to accomplish the task.
Here are some ideas for challenges that work well for elementary to middle school kids.
Building a flat creation
Creating something with a 3D effect
Making the tallest jelly bean tower
Using the jelly beans to make letters or numbers
Building two structures and attempting to connect them (think bridges)
MINUTE-TO-WIN-IT VERSION
Another way to use the Jelly Bean Toothpick Building Activity is to make it a timed game. You could do this as a solo activity or place the children into teams.
This is a great team-building challenge. It would be perfect for Scout meetings, Vacation Bible School, or Easter Parties in the classroom.
Also, using the project-based ideas from the above category, you could challenge the groups to build various toothpick structures with their jelly beans.
You could also finish a team-building challenge by having all of the groups connect their jelly bean toothpick structures!
If you are looking for a true “Minute to Win It” type game, I would recommend making the challenge to see how tall they can build their structures.
I would suggest adjusting the time you give the kids based on their ages. Jelly beans, depending on which brand you are using, can be a little tough to pierce with the toothpicks. Younger children might need to have a “two-minute to win it” game.
ADDING AN EXTRA DIMENSION TO THE STEM PROJECT
Another fun way to use the jelly beans & toothpicks involves building but with the addition of other materials.
Perhaps you add beads or buttons to the toothpicks. Kids will see how the different weights of other items affect their building.
Or maybe kids turn a simple drawing into a 3-D structure like my oldest did with this YODA jelly bean design.
Another fun STEM Toothpick Challenge
Looking for even more fun ways to make toothpick STEM structures? Then take a look at my Spice Drop STEM Activity for Kids post! Spice Drops are a softer candy and are easier for younger children, such as preschoolers, to use as building tools.

This Pepperoni and Peppers Cheese Ball Dip Recipe has your classic cream cheese base, combined with crunchy peppers, onions, and a garnish of pepperoni.
The History of this Cheese Ball Recipe
Before we jump into the recipe, it’s important to give credit to my Mom for inspiring the Pepperoni and Peppers Cheese Ball. She’s been making this recipe (sans pepperoni) for as long as I can remember.
I’m completely biased, but it’s the best cheese ball recipe I’ve ever tasted. Beyond bringing back fond memories of cooking with my mom, the ease of making this cheeseball makes it a winner too.

This recipe has been the perfect holiday appetizer for two generations now. As I began making it, the pepperoni garnish was added.
Occasionally, I make it without the pepperoni garnish and it still gets rave reviews. After all, that’s the original recipe! So if pepperoni isn’t your favorite, skipping it will still leave you with a crowd-pleasing appetizer.
Pepperoni and Peppers Cheese Ball Dip Recipe
Nothing makes me crazier than finding a great recipe and then not being able to find some of the specific ingredients.
There is no need for that concern with this cheese ball. All the ingredients are common and can be found at your local grocery store.
As with most cheese ball recipes, this one involves chopping everything up and mixing it all together with a cream cheese base. The end result – an easy cheese ball appetizer!
It is perfect for a Christmas appetizer with the red peppers, pepperoni, and pimento combined with the green peppers.
Or shape it into a football, cover it with small pepperoni, and you have a fun Super Bowl Cheese Ball!
Whatever the celebration, this cheese ball will be the hit of your party! Keep reading for printable ingredients and instructions on making your cheese ball.
Easy steps to make the Cheeseball
The steps are super easy for making this cheeseball.
First, you will combine the two bars of cream cheese with the shredded cheese in a bowl; mixing them well.
Now, wash and dice up in small pieces the bell peppers and onion. Add these to the cheese mixture.
Drain the pimentos and add them to the bowl. Finish up by adding in the cayenne pepper, Worchester sauce, and lemon juice.
Mix everything well and let it set up in the fridge. You can either add in the pepperonis before you let it chill, or add them as a garnish on top.
The perfect cheese ball filled with crunchy peppers, onions and topped with delicious pepperoni!

Easter Word Scramble for Kids
This Easter game will work for children in Kindergarten and up. Of course, all kids are at different learning stages, so younger children might need some assistance.
Also, there is a Word Bank on the right-hand side that will help younger children figure out the scrambled words.
If your child is struggling with the Easter Word Scramble, try giving them some hints. For example:
“The Easter Bunny in your basket will be made of_____?”
Your child would answer chocolate, and then realize that scrambled-up word is chocolate!
Opposite the above tips, if your child is older, you can always cover up the Word Bank and have them figure out the scrambled words without that extra assistance.
Additional fun with the Easter Word Scramble for Kids
One of the things I’ve learned as a mom is that sometimes letting kids adapt and change games will keep them highly entertained!
Here are some ideas to keep your kids busy after they enjoy the Word Scramble.
Provide chalk and have them make their word scrambles outside
Challenge them to draw pictures of all the words they’ve unscrambled
Use the words to play charades
Have them use the words to make a short story on the back of the paper

Did you find your way here looking for a unique Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt idea? Wanting to “shake things up” a bit on Easter Morning?
Or maybe you have several Easter Celebrations and you want a way to make it through the Easter Weekend with a special surprise at one of them?
Whatever the reason, this Lego Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt is sure to be a hit with your children. They will grab the eggs and shake them. Possibly thinking it’s jelly beans, but the sound will be a little bit off.
So they sneak a peek and see that they aren’t hunting for candy, stickers, or tattoos. They are hunting Legos!

What makes this a true Scavenger Hunt
Now there are two ways you can set up your LEGO Easter Egg Hunt. The first way is to simply hide the LEGO-filled eggs as you normally would. Then Easter morning it would be a traditional search for the eggs hunt.
This is great for younger kids like preschoolers who can’t read yet & would struggle with the next idea.
The other way to do it makes it a little more like a scavenger hunt. You will need to provide your child with clues that guide them in finding all of the hidden eggs.
What’s great about this way is that you can hide the eggs in places less obvious. For example, you could hide them in cereal boxes, cabinets, shoes, or even under your child’s pillow!
Your clues don’t have to be difficult to come up with, just use a little imagination. Here are a few ideas to help you brainstorm.
LEGO SCAVENGER HUNT CLUE IDEAS
This is where you put your feet every morning (hide an egg in a child’s shoes)
When sleepy at night your head rests on this (under a pillow)
Hungry for breakfast yet? Fruit Loops are this bunny’s favorite! (in cereal box)
Lego Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt for One Child
Now that you know the two options for setting up the hunt let’s talk about how to handle the hunt for the number of children you will have hunting.
If you have one child who will be hunting eggs then the set-up for this game will be incredibly easy! Choose the Lego Set that you want to use for the hunt and spread it out on a table.
If you have large pieces you might need to set them aside until after the hunt or purchase Jumbo Plastic Easter Eggs that can fit them.
Place your pieces into the eggs and make sure they are sealed tightly! If you are going to be hunting eggs outside, I highly recommend putting the pieces into ziplock bags inside of the eggs. Or you could tape the eggs shut as well.
Nothing would make Easter morning crazier than searching through your front yard for the 10 pieces that fell out of an egg!
Hunt for Multiple Children with One LEGO Set
Now let’s talk about how to have a Lego Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt when you have more than one child who will be hunting.
The first way to do this is to fill the eggs with one Lego Set as mentioned above and have your children put the set together as a team.
If this won’t work for your family, you could also purchase a LEGO Creative Box that isn’t necessarily a set but has numerous Lego’s to build creatively. This way each child receives Legos, but the pieces they found aren’t needed for a specific build.
But what if you have one Lego-loving child and another one who thinks of those amazing plastic bricks with disdain? There’s a solution for that too.
If this is the case, you will need to mark the eggs containing LEGOS with a symbol and also mark eggs for your other child with a different symbol.
Keep reading for more information on the symbols & keeping eggs separate for each child.
Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt for Multiple Children with Individual Sets
Now if all your children love Legos, you could purchase individual sets for each child. This would mean simply marking the eggs of each child’s set with their own symbol.
Use a Sharpie marker and assign each child either a number, a shape, or a letter. Explain they can’t take their sibling’s eggs, just their own.
Now when the hunt begins they know to only pick up the eggs with their symbol on them.
I highly recommend checking everyone’s eggs before they begin opening them post-hunt to make sure the correct eggs were picked up by the correct kiddo.
Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt at Family Gatherings
On one side of our family, my boys are the only kids young enough to want to hunt eggs.
I wouldn’t attempt this Scavenger Hunt at a larger family gathering unless you were using a creative box of LEGOS and not sets. But it’s something that would help keep kids entertained at a smaller family Easter Celebration.
So if a LEGO Easter Egg Hunt seems like too much to do for Easter morning amongst the baskets, church, and family gatherings – take it with you!
Odds are if this idea of a LEGO Easter Egg Hunt is perfect for your child, then an Easter basket full of fun LEGO-themed gifts would be perfect too! So make sure you take a peek at our LEGO Gift Guide for Kids to find more fun items to fill up their Easter Basket.
It has all kinds of LEGO ideas like headlamps, encyclopedias, and STEM kits to name a few.
Tips & Tricks to perfect the Lego Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt
First, I like to have LEGO-filled eggs, but also other eggs with candy, stickers, etc as well. Opening the LEGO eggs alone might make your child a little sad that they didn’t get what they traditionally do; even if they loved the Legos!
Second, have a bag or place ready for when they open the Lego-filled eggs. A cookie sheet works perfectly for keeping Legos in one place.
Also, If you taped the eggs, be prepared to remove the tape.
Finally, if you are taking these somewhere – don’t forget the instructions and large pieces that wouldn’t fit in eggs. Your child will be super bummed to find all the pieces and then not have the instructions.

Looking for a quick and easy Easter Dessert? One that kids will love and you’ll be proud to serve? This Sprinkles Easter Bunny Cake is all of those things!
Growing up at our Easter brunch we always had a traditional Easter Bunny Cake. You know the one I am talking about with its circle tummy and cute-shaped ears.
When I was younger my mom would bake it & ice it and then set back as my sister and I covered it in jelly beans. Oh and don’t forget the sprinkles. We would use so many sprinkles that it was almost crunchy when our family members would eat it.
Over the years we stopped with decorating the cake until it glittered, but we always had that Easter Bunny-shaped cake!
In that weird way that food can become a family tradition, maybe this new version of a Sprinkles Easter Bunny Cake can become your family Easter tradition!

How to Make a Sprinkles Easter Bunny Cake
The best part about this cake is that you don’t need extensive cake decorating skills to make it. Keep reading to learn how to easily make your own Sprinkles Easter Bunny Cake.
For this cake, use two cake pans to make the stacked cake. Bake your cake according to the recipe instructions and let it cool.
First, you need to pick your favorite cake recipe and bake your cake. I’ve made this with strawberry and vanilla cakes, but carrot cake would be perfect for Easter. If using boxed cake mixes, you only need one box.
Once your cake is completely cool, ice the entire cake. I left the edges exposed a bit for a little extra character, but icing all over is fine too.
Now for the fun part, adding the sprinkle to make your Easter Bunny.
First, decide where you want the bunny to be on your cake. You can do one in the middle or you could make several all over the cake. Totally up to you, but doing more than one will take much longer to prepare so keep that in mind.
Now gently place the cookie cutter onto the iced cake.
Push the cookie cutter down far enough that none of the sprinkles can escape under it. However, do not push down so far that it will pull up large amounts of icing when you remove it.
The idea is to trap the sprinkles, but not pull up a ton of icing when you remove the cookie cutter.
IT’s TIME TO ADD THE SPRINKLES!
Once you have your cookie cutter in place, it’s time to add the sprinkles to the cake.
Slowly shake the sprinkles inside the cookie cutter.
Are you wondering where those shiny sprinkles in the pictures are from?
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find these exact sprinkles for this year’s Sprinkles Easter Bunny cake.
There are several similar sprinkles on Amazon, however, and few that even have fun bunnies or ducks in them.
Make sure the sprinkles are spread out evenly. Try and sprinkle them without having the sprinkles gather into one section of the cookie cutter.
You might need to gently rock the cake back and forth to get the sprinkles to spread out over the cookie cutter. You can also use a spoon to spread them out.
Once you have your sprinkles spread pretty evenly, it’s time to make sure they stay on the cake.
Do this by using a spoon and gently pushing down on the sprinkles inside the cookie cutter.
If your cookie cutter has tiny crevices, you can use a toothpick to reach the tight spots. Or you can wrap your finger inside a ziplock bag and gently push them down that way too.
Here’s the tricky part of the Bunny Cake
Now, this is the part of the Sprinkles Easter Bunny Cake that can be a little tricky, but it will be okay!
Once you have your sprinkles pushed down into the cake, it’s time to remove the bunny cookie cutter. Gently pull up the cookie cutter and check out your masterpiece.
Hopefully, you don’t pull up too much icing with the cookie cutter. It’s OK if you did! Simply use a toothpick and push them back into the bunny shape.
Finishing Touches
I like the simplicity of just having the Easter Bunny on the cake, but the M&M’s are my boys’ favorite part! It’s a good task for them to help with making the cake.
You can also add some more sprinkles around the edges of the cakes too. It’s totally up to you how you finish decorating the cake.
Hopefully, you have a fun time making the Easter Bunny Cake! Make sure you check out our other fun Easter ideas.
So you have your Easter Basket planning in progress and you’ve hit a roadblock. You have great ideas for your younger kids (because – TOYS) but what about your Tween Boys Easter Basket?

Then of course, once it’s built the launching begins. Beanbags are included, but I’m sure other things can be launched as well…

This Chain Reactions Set is an introduction to making Lego machines that do things like roll, drop, or spin. Great idea for the Lego lover who has every Lego set imaginable.

This Hover Ball is a great idea for sports lovers! Either a cold winter morning or rainy spring afternoon, they can still be active… and not break things like they would with a real ball.
DUDE PERFECT BOOK
This Dude Perfect Book is super fun if you have a fan of the popular YouTubers in your house!
This Djubi Slingball Classic was our go-to gift this year for friends’ birthday parties. It’s like the game of catch but has the paddles with nets and you sling the ball using the paddles.
GOODMINTON RACQUET GAME
Another fun game, Goodminton is a remake of classic racquetball. Check out those super cool-looking orange feather birdies!
STOMP ROCKET
You can send rockets up to 20 stories high using only kid power with the Stomp Rockets Toy! Kids can jump or stomp to send the rockets into the air.
SPEED CUBES
These speed cubes are like a Rubik’s Cube times 100! The first time I watched my nephew do one of these I was blown away.
There are tons of different levels and shapes available too. Also, plenty of YouTube videos exist to help your child learn the tricks of mastering these.
NERF SPORTS ‘DUDE PERFECT’ FLYING DISC
Thanks to YouTube, my boys have discovered a love for the Dude Perfect Show. There are several items in the Dude Perfect sports line, but this flying disc looks like the best one for fitting in an Easter Basket.
Do you have a football fan in your home? Then make sure you take a peek at our Football Gifts for Kids for even more Easter basket ideas. It has tons of ideas that would fit perfectly in an Easter basket.
FLIP CHALLENGE GAME
Of all the trends lately, this one seems to have stuck with kids still flipping bottles anywhere they can to ward off boredom. This Flip Challenge set has cards to make an average flipping session into challenges and games!
TENZI DICE GAME
This game was recommended by a friend and it’s going in my son’s Easter Basket for this year. Tenzi is a dice-based game with lots of playing options.
Its fast pace keeps everyone in the family involved and having a blast.
ENCYCLOPEDIAS FOR KIDS
There are tons of general Children’s Encyclopedias available that would make great gifts for a Tween boy’s Easter Basket.
Of course, there are specific encyclopedias available too. Check out a few favorites below:
Movies like Jumanji or Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie are great gifts for tween boys.
This is especially true if you are traveling on Easter and want to enjoy a peaceful car ride.
New releases always grab kids’ attention but don’t forget about the movies from when you were growing up. Some of the classics like The Sandlot deserve to be watched by another generation!
