What to Put in Your Tween Boys Easter Basket

Easter eggs and toys in green Easter grass

So you have your Easter Basket planning in progress and you’ve hit a roadblock. You have great ideas for your younger kids (because – TOYS) but what about your Tween Boys Easter Basket?

I’m referring to boys who aren’t exactly into toys anymore, but they are still young enough that they secretly want an Easter Basket alongside their siblings. I’m talking about those pre-teen boys ages 8 to 12.

Speaking of tweens, check out our new list of Unique & Fun Activities for Bored Tweens Stuck at Home. It has tons of unplugged, inside activities to keep them busy!

Tween Boys Easter Basket Ideas

So the question remains: What do you put in a pre-teen or tween boy Easter basket?

Check out the ideas below to find some great ideas for boys with varying interests.

There’s everything from hilarious card games to LEGOs and even gross jelly bean sets like the one below.

JELLY BEAN BOOZLED GAME

Have you seen these Jelly Belly Bean Boozled sets? The quick version: you spin the wheel and whatever you land on you eat the flavor listed there. Simple enough, but the flavors range from spoiled milk to coconut to dead fish…

Yes, it slightly concerns me that my boys love this game. But as a mom of three boys, I understand the appeal of it.

These are my number one picks if you are looking for something a little strange for a Tween Boys Easter Basket!

NOT PARENT-APPROVED: A HILARIOUS CARD GAME FOR KIDS

This Not Parent Approved Card Game for Kids is perfect for the tween boy in your life. With fun question prompt cards, you will choose answer cards that have laughter-inducing answers!

Be prepared, it has all the tween-boy humor categories you would expect!

THROW THROW BURRITO

Another fun game for tweens is Throw Throw Burrito. Yes, it involves throwing the two squishy burritos included!

LEGO EASTER BUNNY

How fun is this LEGO Easter Bunny?

The specialized LEGO sets can be pricey, so click through to see all the Easter LEGO sets & maybe you’ll catch one on sale!

FUNKO POP FIGURES

Kids would love a bobblehead of their favorite character or athlete! My oldest is getting the Dwight Schrute one this year!

There are hundreds of Funko Pop Collectibles to choose from for your tween’s Easter Basket. These are perfect for kids who love to have figurines from their favorite game, sports figure, or movie star.

EASTER MAD LIBS

This Easter Mad Libs book is full of 21 original stories all celebrating Easter. Kids will laugh at all of their silly answers.

LEGO MINECRAFT THE CHICKEN COOP

If your boy loves Legos & Minecraft, then this Chicken Coop set is perfect for Easter. Look at those tiny little eggs!

If you have a LEGO fan in your house, make sure you also check out our LEGO Gift Guide for Kids!

It has over 40+ LEGO gifts ranging from headlamps to books to alarm clocks.

HAY STAX PUZZLE TOY

The concept seems simple behind this Hay Stax puzzle, but it can be a lot harder than you think!

LEGO HOLIDAY EASTER EGG HUNT SET

This Easter Egg Hunt Set is great for Easter Baskets as well! My son has this set and he loves that each of the 3 “buildings” has movable places to hide the eggs.

BOY CRAFT BUILD YOUR OWN CATAPULT

I know putting “catapult and boys” in the same sentence, isn’t necessarily a smart idea. However, this Catapult Wars is on a smaller scale than the one you could use to launch watermelons.

If you have a boy who loves to build, this kit requires you to assemble the catapult yourself.

Then of course, once it’s built the launching begins. Beanbags are included, but I’m sure other things can be launched as well…

LEGO CHAIN REACTIONS

This Chain Reactions Set is an introduction to making Lego machines that do things like roll, drop, or spin. Great idea for the Lego lover who has every Lego set imaginable.

EASTER BASKET-SIZED NERF GUN

This is one of the smaller Nerf Guns great for fitting into an Easter Basket.

RECHARGEABLE SOCCER HOOVER BALL

This Hover Ball is a great idea for sports lovers! Either a cold winter morning or rainy spring afternoon, they can still be active… and not break things like they would with a real ball.

DUDE PERFECT BOOK

This Dude Perfect Book is super fun if you have a fan of the popular YouTubers in your house!

DJUBI CLASSIC GAME

This Djubi Slingball Classic was our go-to gift this year for friends’ birthday parties. It’s like the game of catch but has the paddles with nets and you sling the ball using the paddles.

GOODMINTON RACQUET GAME

Another fun game, Goodminton is a remake of classic racquetball. Check out those super cool-looking orange feather birdies!

STOMP ROCKET

You can send rockets up to 20 stories high using only kid power with the Stomp Rockets Toy!  Kids can jump or stomp to send the rockets into the air.

SPEED CUBES

These speed cubes are like a Rubik’s Cube times 100! The first time I watched my nephew do one of these I was blown away.

There are tons of different levels and shapes available too. Also, plenty of YouTube videos exist to help your child learn the tricks of mastering these.

NERF SPORTS ‘DUDE PERFECT’ FLYING DISC

Thanks to YouTube, my boys have discovered a love for the Dude Perfect Show. There are several items in the Dude Perfect sports line, but this flying disc looks like the best one for fitting in an Easter Basket.

Do you have a football fan in your home? Then make sure you take a peek at our Football Gifts for Kids for even more Easter basket ideas. It has tons of ideas that would fit perfectly in an Easter basket.

FLIP CHALLENGE GAME

Of all the trends lately, this one seems to have stuck with kids still flipping bottles anywhere they can to ward off boredom. This Flip Challenge set has cards to make an average flipping session into challenges and games!

TENZI DICE GAME

This game was recommended by a friend and it’s going in my son’s Easter Basket for this year. Tenzi is a dice-based game with lots of playing options.

Its fast pace keeps everyone in the family involved and having a blast.

ENCYCLOPEDIAS FOR KIDS

There are tons of general Children’s Encyclopedias available that would make great gifts for a Tween boy’s Easter Basket.

Of course, there are specific encyclopedias available too. Check out a few favorites below:

National Geographic Animal Encyclopedia

Star Wars Encyclopedia for Kids

Marvel Avengers The Ultimate Character Guide

MOVIES FOR A TWEEN BOYS EASTER BASKET

Movies like Jumanji or Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie are great gifts for tween boys.

This is especially true if you are traveling on Easter and want to enjoy a peaceful car ride.

New releases always grab kids’ attention but don’t forget about the movies from when you were growing up. Some of the classics like The Sandlot deserve to be watched by another generation!
